The main reason for Tonedeff’s existence IS to see how everything that takes place in this world has a reasoning behind it. His reason to live is to witness this great entity who has set place a reason for every event. This is a great philosophical concept. Tonedeff’s belief that he too has a reason to live, just proves that there must be a great entity after all.

Great words to live by, a very common concept Everything that takes place in this world is caused by a greater entity, for a greater purpose than what the norm eye can see. It’s a religious perspective to justify the good and the bad that take place in our lives.

Memories of his past mistakes keep replaying in his head over and over again; looping. They are preventing him from getting any sleep or any rest.

Interesting words used. He UNwinds each memory down, by unwinding himself down, distancing himself from the memories, in a way UNdoing it all. But then he REwinds the memories like a cassette and his mind REplays everything over again. It’s a never ending cycle, where he is struggling to find peace within himself.

No one ever stops learning about love, therefore, we’re all students. As kids, during our years and years of experience, we learn the lesson the hard way. Tonedeff hones in on how we’re just like little kids who develop feelings/emotions deeper than we’re supposed to, maturing as little adults. This is a major problem that adolescents are facing constantly, having to deal with “grown up problems” while being young and naïve. They think they are old enough to handle them but they find out they are wrong, only when it is too late.

Love has a crippling effect on Tonedeff, therefore, he has to force himself to move on. He is advising the listeners to do the same, otherwise they will find themselves in the same situation as him. As hard as it may be, sometimes it is the best thing for you.

He def. wants to touch her, cop a feel, but he is afraid of rejection so he’s reluctant. This theme is obvious throughout the song; his low self-esteem.

During his development, he started surrounding himself with girls to understand what they’re like. He began taking “parades” meaning groups of girls with him to different places.

Painted bangs = dyed hair. a lot of the times, girls would only dye their front bangs like:

Plated braces: braces that have visible plates, which could be any color. He is saying she even looked hot in braces.

This is very reminiscing of middle/high school when friends dominate the decision of who to date and who to ignore. Tonedeff is on point with notes being thrown away. She is a popular girl and so are her friends, making Tonedeff a “loser,” someone that can’t date a popular chick in school. Friends usually think they’re helping us but it’s hardly ever the case.
