The Táin Bó , or cattle raid (literally "driving-off of cows"), is one of the genres of early Irish literature. The medieval Irish literati organised their work into genres such as the Cattle Raid ( Táin Bó), adventure (Echtra ), the Voyage (Imram ), the Feast (Fled or Feis), the Wooing (Tochmarc ), the Conception (Compert ) and the Death (Aided ), rather than the familiar but relatively modern division into cycles.

The word “Tain” has even older Irish origins in the genre of epic poems known as “Táin Bó” or “Cattle Raid”. (
). The most famous of these epics is the “Táin Bó Cúailnge”, or “the Cattle Raid of Cooley”. It is commonly referred to as simply “The Tain” due to its prominence. It holds a similar status in Irish mythology as the Iliad or Odyssey does for Greek. ()
Being that “The Tain” involves high chiefs and warriors, the word may be the source of “Puddin' n' Tain” rhyme LawyerHead mentions This children’s rhyme is then referenced in the Alley Cats song mentioned here by Harley, and then by Das FX.

This is a quote from a 1647 book by Balthasar Gracian called The Art of Wordly Wisdom. The quote can be found in the the section of How to triumph over Rivals and Detractors:
It is not enough to despise them, though this is often wise: a gallant bearing is the thing. One cannot praise a man too much who speaks well of them who speak ill of him. A play on hearse and Hearst. Patty Hearst was the granddaughter of publishing magnate William Randolph Hearst and great-granddaughter of millionaire George Hearst.
Patty gained infamy in 1974 when she was kidnapped by the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA) and eventually joined her captors in furthering their cause. Apprehended after having taken part in a bank robbery with other SLA members, Hearst was imprisoned for almost 2 years before her sentence was commuted by President Jimmy Carter.
