Big Boi compares barely making rent payments at the end of the month with little money left over to barely making the cut for a basketball team but being forced to ride the bench for the JV/B Team. Neither case is ideal, but it is still better than not making the payment/being cut from the team.

Notably heroin did not kill any of these 3 famous musicians. Though Ozzy might have been better off. Kidding.

She just shot up again ! She had been trying to quit. 50 says he won’t forget what she “did” by tryin to kick.

What did she do? Let’s see. In the above photo she’s doing “Labrinth.” Years later, she did get naked in a Don Johnson movie (something heat or hot?). Then she did -oh yeah- this film about addiction:

To extend 50’s thick drug metaphor the way 50 would want a Rap Genius to do it. A “bi” drug addict would mainline cocaine and heroin together, aka speedball. Hence, “that girl” is coke and “the man” is 50, i.e., heroin.

If you want to research Baltimore and Heroin like 50 has, you can start here:

ACCEPTED SUGGESTION: First, “proof” derives from the days when alcohol was served on shipboard; alcohol that was proof could be spilled on gunpowder and the powder would still light without problem. (Might as well add the Wikipedia link as it’s clearly the source for the annotation.)

Second, I do not see what value the explanation about whether the UK still uses proof adds.

Third, this annotation should in no way cut off at the word “proof” but should continue to the next line’s “vodka” at least. The suggestion that he’s likening his rhyming to mathematical proofs is preposterous.
