“Spoke like Jeremy” is a direct reference to Pearl Jam’s first hit song, Jeremy.” “Jeremy” is the tale of a troubled kid who ultimately lashes out and takes the lives of his classmates. The chorus says “Jeremy spoke in class today.” Additionally, the music video features Jeremy setting his classroom on fire, and that is the reason behind Ubi’s next line, “feel my fire, my smoke, my kerosene.”

There’s a pause in the music, but he could be implying a “no homo” here because if you know The Human Centipede, it’s pretty gay if it were just a bunch of guys doing something like that.

Vic is saying in this world, especially Chicago you have to stay on your toes and keep a gun to protect yourself. If not you’re bound to get killed, and you’d almost deserve it for not having a gun yourself.

Ride is saying that in the internet age, people treat human life recklessly. The youth is unintentionally being thrown to the wolves with them having access to messed up shit on the internet. Ride always talks about how the internet desensitizes people, and it connects into this song because the general population is soft and unprepared by those who have been raised by the internet.

“Cut The Birth Cords, Press Send”:

This line goes along with the previous lines, with the “Pregnant Snake” being a computer virus and the bit about the “Mak[ing] your water break in the Apple Store.” He’s going to go to the Apple Store, release (birth) this Computer Virus out onto the web, and cause Digital Anarchy.

“Sink or Swim, who fucking cares” means one or both of the following:

  1. He doesn’t care whether he gets caught or not, he’s hyping himself up before he commits the act of releasing the Virus in the Apple Store, (this is why he says it beforehand)

  2. He doesn’t care who’s affected by the digital catastrophe he’s about to unfurl, only caring about the chaos he’s going to create, and the system he’s going to destroy.

In general, Death Grips are known for having themes of devolution through the extensive progression of technology and the way pop-culture/media encourages its negative use. Given the nature of this song, (mostly the beat), it could be Ride saying this facetiously, as if it’s a death calling, characterizes this as the death song of youth in the pseudo-technological age.

Referring to his penis. Pregnant snake as in full of semen.

The snake is part of the larger narrative of destroying the Apple store. A pregnant snake, like a worm, is a computer program that propagates itself throughout a system. He’s gonna make it give birth in the apple store, and spread it’s spawn to the yuppies there.

A play on bánh mì sandwiches (named after me/mì), which are Vietnamese, as well as phở, a Vietnamese soup (phở/fool). Bánh mì were introduced through the French’s colonial rule there, who passed on the idea of baguettes to them (funnily enough French rule in Vietnam can be argued to have been a root cause for the Vietnam War)
