Most of my music is written and recorded late at night and through the early morning, so I found myself delirious and out of it many of times…as if I were a zombie.

The coffee really is just another word for caffeine, which seemed to be all of what pumped through my veins at that time.

Aspiring to be someone or something is a tough thing, because it makes a lot of people spiteful.

Your biggest enemy, regardless of anything anyone says, is you.

Growing up, whenever anyone would ask you what you wanted to be they always said to follow your dreams.

I find it rather funny though, because around the time you get out of high school those same people start asking you again what you’re really going to do, as if that dream you have will be nothing more than such.

I feel like all that time, they allow you to live in this fantasy world, then they throw you to the wolves of reality without ever really teaching us how to survive. After that, it’s up to you to figure out how to survive- that’s the scariest part.

The mixtape is called Youngbloods.

The idea of a Youngblood is being a young person who is thrust into a reality that’s truly fucked up.

With such ambition and drive as a young kid with something to prove, you will hear my music on your airwaves shortly.

Pretty bold statement if I may say so myself…

My grandpa (Poppa), great grandma (Marjorie) and Connie (Grandma) all inspire me to do what I do.

So whenever I doubt myself or something, the thought of those three standing right there telling me to get to work and do what I love is very motivational… the thought that they can hear this song up wherever they are is pretty exciting too…

The song concept is about capturing the memories and mental pictures (the polaroids) we take, and using them to build and grow as people.

It’s about an embrace of youth, and the rebellious idea of fuck you I’m doing what I want.
