This is my first review to any type of project. I don’t think I’ll start off with a grading scale…Instead I think I’ll just sum up my entire feelings in the area where it says Summary of the Review. This is for anyone who doesn’t want to read all that long shit.

The “grade” will be the gif that it is in on the side. I think it’s a more unique thing than a old fashion grading scale…It’s not so superficial to me. The gif just basically summarizes what I feel after listening to this album. And I can change it at anytime, so if over time I grow to love an album, I can just change the gif. However, I won’t change what I said on the review.

I gave a Track-by-Track review because I’ve always thought that in the reviews that I watch that there were some songs that I wish were talked about however, they’re missed and I didn’t get the reviewers thoughts on them. With the TBTR I can give my thoughts on every track.

Dizzy Wright is usually on Trap, Soulful, or Golden Age type of production. This “dark” or “vengeful” type of production that Jarren and Hopsin are usually on is totally out of his character.

You see how that bar is so simple? You see how there’s no wit, when you could’ve easily fixed it with a metaphor or something?

C'mon now, Hop. Those bars are simple. They’re just full of multies. I understand how difficult they can be to write, but they are not complex as you might feel they are when you write them and when they come to my ears.

Overall, I feel like half of the album was filler. I think Hopsin was really trying to please everyone that demanded he hurried up with the album instead of concentrating on the quality of it. All those sneak peeks Hopsin had for Knock Madness that I’ve seen:

Where’s the beat from :55? or 2:12?? Or 3:03??? or 5:17???? There was so much potential that was discarded. All of those songs could’ve took the place on any of the songs in the second half of the album.

The album is so one dimensional. Hopsin just decides, that the song is either going to be “raw” or about life. However, a lot of that doesn’t particularly have substance.

Besides being corny (which I don’t usually mind), these are the imperfections that Knock Madness has that could’ve been easily fixed.

• Repetitive Topics about his ex-girlfriend or girls that mistreated him.
• Misplacement of features.
• Wasted Beats with Sub-Par Hooks and half-assed verses
• Worst of beats selected. (Like I explained in my earlier statement)
• Limited Replay Value (because of length more than quality)

It’s a shame cause I like Hopsin and a collab with him would be the greatest. His heart is in the right place, but the execution is prosaic and facile.
