Life can be approached with precaution and seriousness, but I/O prefers it when people just let themselves go and don’t care about the consequences. I guess, in terms of the song, strippers don’t really carry themselves with respect or class, showing disregard for themselves.

As the song is titled ‘X-Rated Movies’ it is fitting that the first clear word we hear is pornographic.

The whole song seems to detail Ayo talking to a stripper/porn star (both degrading and immoral jobs or vices), and trying to make her come out of her usual shell and be real with him.

However, most people have had ‘pornographic fantasies’ at one time or another about celebrities or crushes, so that could be breaking the fourth wall or making a general statement. ‘Pornographic Fantasies’ could also be linked to the sin of lust.

By saying the ‘ones you slowly push away’, he might be suggesting that she doesn’t have those fantasies any more, as the lives of strippers and porn-stars can be very lonely and depressing, seeing as you’re a tool for the pleasure of others and neither job will take you far in life.

A problem with fame is that you gain fans who wouldn’t care about you if they saw you in he streets before they knew who you were. They may act friendly and supportive, but he sees through their facade and asks why does he have to please them, if they were never there for him in the past?

Based on the chorus, this song is a bout a girl, more specifically a girlfriend.

By saying this, Ayo is basically stating what he has learned from this relationship. He is saying that he was fooled by the fact that they were dating for so long, which made him feel as if she could never do wrong by him, but she obviously did.
