If you want to get technical, people would specifically refer to this line as a simile, as it is a type of metaphor; see MC Lyte’s line in Lyte as a Rock for details.

However, what Lupe’s really saying is “I think I like her like I met her ‘fore” (as in, “I met her before”), which is deliberately pronounced like “metaphor” here

That’s some tricky wordplay, but this is Lupe, the undisputed RapGenius™ King of Lyrical Trickiness

This is actually a triple-entendre!
Like the guys above said, it means
1) she’s hard to get (also a metaphor can be hard to get),
2) he feels like he met her before and
3) Lupe as a rapper loves to work with metaphors. He’s a master at it. So he loves metaphors. By saying he likes her like a metaphor, he shows his love for both, metaphors and that girl.

What he is actually saying is, she is hard to get like a metaphor,so he likes her for the same reason he like metaphors (he finishes of the line with) “it’s hard to get”

Lupe is referring to an organization (she) a rebirthing stage. Life after death. You gotta go deeper when listening to Lupe.

“black and rims” whether on ball courts, attires of all sorts. common could be playing on words using “attires” as a reformulation of tires which would make sense, referring to rims as being on courts as well as cars.

The social issues they talked about were mirrored in his life.

Ignorant wisdom is questionable, as it’s contradicting, but sort of understandable in rap: philosophy in slang and etc. It could also be referring in this case to “street smarts,” or the type of wisdom that one can achieve without the use of higher education (college, university, etc).

Ja Rule took shots at 50, Dre and Eminem on a diss track entitled “Loose Change” (50 Cent, loose change… get it?). At the very end he spits the lines:

Em, you claim your mother’s a crackhead and Kim is a known slut
So what’s Hailie gon' be when she grows up?

Ja: Good diss, bad career move!

Refers to Lauryn Hill’s song, To Zion where she says.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion"

Zion is the name of her first born son and refers to the Rastafarian code word. The song is about his conception and birth, which occurred despite heavy pressure from music business folks around her to terminate the pregnancy because of possible effects on her career.

‘Ye wishes Lauryn never had a bunch of damn kids and her joy still came from making dope music. She has only released one album, and has been absent for the best part of 15 years.
