There’s a few things going on here.

The bottle of Hennessy represents the opinion that Beyonce’s video was in-fact better than Taylor’s. While a lot of the audience and viewers were thinking the same thing, they never said it – Kanye did and took the bullet.

Notice he never directly apologies. Kanye’s only ever said “sorry” when a) he knows he was wrong or b) when he’s been under the most intense scrutiny.

This is poignant because the fans can relate. Whenever Kanye does something I get comments about it from other people. It’s either – “Oh wow, Kanye did something cool for once” or “Kanye’s a dickhead, why do you like him?”

I like the polarising responses because my opinion never changes.
