During an episode of Budden’s I’ll Name This Podcast Later he was very critical of Drake’s record Views. He plays on “Views” as both the album title, and Drake’s opinion or view of the world. Budden was delivering a critique, and Drake retaliated by dissing him during “4PM In Calabasas.”
Joe also admitted on a different episode that he actually know if Drake was coming for him or if he was paranoid. This went down after a video surfaced of French Montana listening to a clip of Drake saying “pump it up"—the biggest hit of Joe’s career. Joe has been waiting for Drake & French’s "No Shopping” to release, but since it hasn’t dropped, Joe wanted to hit Drake first.
Joe has said that he heard ‘No Shopping’ in its entirety prior to recording this.
The song was played to the industry, however, as with the album, there was a delay in actually releasing it.
