Gucci describes the pitfalls of prison life. Just like the opening line where he mentions shooters loading pistols while brushing his teeth, he also hears them sharpening knives.

Gucci was released from prison 4 months early. His lawyer explained how the early release was possible to XXL:

The reason for his release date is myself and my legal team took the position that he was not properly deemed and then credited for the time he was incarcerated while waiting for his case to go to court. We filed a series of motions after which being considered, the court signed an order in agreement with us. Bailor was sent to the Bureau of Prisons and his sentence was adjusted accordingly and he was released.

While many of the “evil” things Gucci has done probably aren’t public record, his rap sheet speaks for itself:

  • In 2005, Gucci was charged with murder after he killed rapper Pookie Loc during a robbery, however the charges were later dropped as it was deemed self defence.

  • In January 2011, he pushed a women out of a moving vehicle when she refused to have sex with him for $150.

  • In September 2012, Gucci was charged with two counts of battery, two counts of reckless conduct and one count of disorderly conduct for assaulting a woman named Diana Graham.

  • In March 2013, Gucci was arrested after he bottled a fan who just wanted a photo with him. He left the fan (a solider) with a facial wound requiring ten stitches.

Also, this isn’t the first time anyone has accused Gucci of being crazy. In January 2011, he was admitted to Anchor Hospital for psychiatric treatment.

A nic is a $5 bag of drugs (weed, crack, dope, etc) and is a popular way of selling drugs on the streets of Philly.

Unlike Drake, Meek has experienced the street life and most likely has seen $50,000 in $5 notes.

Timbland incorporates a lot of Middle Eastern music in his records. Since Morocco is on the horn of Africa, that would be cool to hear in the music.

This song title is inspired by “Breakfast in Cairo” from their 1999 unreleased album Exclusive Audio Footage.

Unlike most drug dealer narratives where the king pin dies because he gets too greedy, Pusha and Malice escape to Morocco, a country that doesn’t extradite to the U.S.

This reflects a lot of what they’ve been through over the years. Their former manager, Anthony Gonzalez, was sentenced to 32 years prison in 2010 for running a $20 million dollar drug ring but they walk the streets as free men.

Pusha and Malice have always blurred the line between drug dealer and rapper, they’re chameleons. But which will it be when the feds come knocking?

Felt Bilal was good for this since he’s kinda the same. Very lowkey and can blend in.
