YG says “the City Back Crackin'” but won’t pronounce “C” because he is a Blood gang member.

This line is similar to the title of one his songs, “Bicken Back Bein Bool.”

Once again referring to DMs (direct messages), Drake claims it’s the girls in his life (not him) who are messing up their relationships with him.

This lyric could be a general statement or allude to the likes of Serena Williams or Rihanna, who Drizzy has recently been rumoured to have hooked up with.

After the success of his debut album My Krazy Life, YG thought everyone from family to friends to fans, would wish him nothing but happiness. Unfortunately for YG, he’s had to learn the hard way.

In 2015, YG was shot in a studio in L.A.. In an interview with Billboard, he commented on the shooting and how it’s affected his relationships:

I have trust issues. For reasons, though, plenty of reasons. Like, I don’t know who shot me. I trust nobody across the board. If I ain’t with you almost every day, if you ain’t pulling up, if I ain’t calling you, I don’t trust you, especially now. I know a lot of people be mad, jealous or whatever it is, some people feel like I’m not touchable but I’m still out here, and that make it worse.

A hater is a person that can’t be happy for another person’s success. Instead of people being happy for him, haters keep talking down on YG.

YG’s endured his fair share of haters throughout his life. In 2015, he was shot in the hip while recording in an L.A studio, and in 2014, local police departments in Southern California cancelled his shows because they considered him to be “dangerous.” He commented:

That’s just bullshit. They just hating. All my shows, they have been smooth. There ain’t nothing going on. They canceled my other shows, and I know it’s somebody behind the scenes and they feel some type of way about me. I’m out here doing nothing to nobody. I don’t know what they seeing and hearing, but I’m still crazy. People trying to blackball me, and I got shot? Studios, they don’t want to book me. They need extra security, what?

YG knows that involving friends with his business isn’t a wise move. In 2015, he and close friend/collaborator DJ Mustard got into it on social media after Mustard claimed he wasn’t paid for producing most of his debut album, My Krazy Life. Both parties have since worked out their differences.

This is also reminiscent of something Biggie said on “Ten Crack Commandments”:

7: this rule is so underrated
Keep your family and business completely separated
Money and blood don’t mix…

We hadn’t had an early hangout since March so we tried something new, but since we had a pretty low turnout it seems 7-9pm EST is what hangouts will be going forward!

Here’s what we discussed this week:

  • New mobile artist page. People like it!

  • Genius color palette—unfortunately we probably won’t be getting a new one anytime soon.

  • Screen News. Check out the @screen-genius forum and get into it.

  • Dream album contest. Everyone is doing it, have you done yours yet?!

  • Glorious IQ for Editorial. Lots of great new stuff with the new lists tech has blessed us with. Get involved. @BasedGator is going to be taking over this in the coming weeks so look out for that ;)

  • New transcription calendars need tracklist to be annotated. Some users are earning 1,500+ IQ on some pages by doing this! It’s super important and needs to be done, so the IQ is well deserved. Message @streetlights if you want to get involved.

  • IQ for transcription. We’re working on it!

  • Credit fixes for transcription. We’re working on it!

  • Empath suggested we need a merging tool for annotations. We all agree.

  • New faces Doctorstrange and Yaboynicky joined in the hangout!

If I missed anything, please add it in. See y'all next week for another dope community hangout ;)

Funny because his last two releases, Purple Reign and EVOL, are no where near as good as his pre-DS2 work.

The only thing that’s changed is instead of sounding like a rapper in your city, you can sound like ANY rapper. Thank you internet.
