A “house of cards” is a house that is always on the brink of collapse. But in the ghetto, most people can’t even afford to live in a house with a yard regardless of how unstable it is, because they live in an apartment in the middle of the hood. This means they have to deal with all of the disfunction and none of the benefits that come from owning a house.

And knowing that Lupe is politically minded and often sneaks references into his lyrics, there’s a good chance that he’s referencing the popular show House of Cards, a political drama revolving around the House of Representatives.

The teepee is a conical tent usually associated with Native Americans. When you get poor enough to be out on the cold streets looking for shelter, even a small cloth tent can be viewed as a full and proper house.

This line ties into the the card metaphor started in the previous lines. In poker a Full House is a hand that contains three matching cards of one rank and two matching cards of another rank. Its a rare hand that comes to the more fortunate players.

In addition, the word “tepee” can also be heard as “TP”, the acronym for toilet paper, which plays off of the preceding line that dissembles the word “bullshit.” Bullshit and toilet paper is a pretty natural progression.

Bonus: “TP” also forms a double entendre in its own line, as many pranksters enjoy throwing numerous rolls of toilet paper all over neighboring families' residences, or, “Full Houses.” Excuse an additional toilet paper pun: Lupe wiped the floor with this one.

People are trying to figure out his lyrics, but his lines are too high (blown = slang for high on drugs), meaning they are beyond the reach of the common man’s comprehension.

This could be also be a continuation of the cell phone analogy. People are always tapping into his phone lines, trying to understand his tone. Hence there’s always the threat of his line of communication getting blown.

  • They wouldn’t understand his tone if his songs were amplified through a megaphone, let alone if they heard them on a cell phone.

  • Chicks will never hear the ringtone from his phone call. Neither will the people trying to get with him to understand how he does his thing.

The Metatron Cube is a geometric figure.

All of this ties into the concept of sacred geometry. Like a tetrahedron, the Metatron cube is supposed to describe the flow of energy and emotion, except the Metatron is more OG. So two (deuce = french for two) Metatron cubes would be even MORE badass!

Justice = Judge.

It’s that period of time when you gain an importance, and are no longer trying to prove yourself. You instead sit back and comment on the world.

Again, like the soldier in the fourth age, the judge is only a metaphor. Anyone can experience this age.

Mewling is the small weak noise that a cat makes.

The first stage of life is that of a little baby who succeeds in getting everyone’s attention by alternately crying and vomiting in the arms of his caretaker.

In Jacques' view, even the start of life is filled with dissatisfaction.

Up to this time the word “puke” meant a brownish fluid. This is the first instance of “puking” as a newly coined word; a verb. Shakespeare was responsible for many new words entering the English language, and this is one example. Puke has come to be synonymous with vomit but in this sense, puking might also be the watery fecal discharge that is common to infants.

Pard was the Old English word for a leopard. The beard of a young man is so patchy that it looks spotted like a leopard.

The comparison also works on the level of personality. A leopard is the perfect animal to describe the lines that follow, for with all its might and hunting prowess, a leopard can get quite egotistical and temperamental.

A beard could also represent the honor that both the soldier and the leopard strive to protect. After all, a beard is a proud possession of men, and it takes time to grow one to perfection. Here again, bearded could mean spotted, for like a man’s beard, a leopard’s spots are its pride.
