Effectivement, pour se suicider en se tranchant les veines, il est plus efficace de les ouvrir dans la longueur que dans la largeur. Cependant s'ouvrir les veines est déjà un acte plutôt mortifère en soi et seul Vîrus pourrait penser à utiliser cette image pour décrire son attachement (ambigu) à la vie.

Cette belle opposition fait penser à :

Les relations (amoureuses ou pas) illustrent bien ce questionnement : quand l'une d'elles se termine (décès comme ici, rupture dans le cas d'une relation amoureuse…), il arrive que sous le coup de la souffrance, on regrette qu'elle ait commencé, et qu'on s'interroge de la sorte.

Fait écho à un peu plus haut “Ne restent que quelques mégots et des pistaches, restées fermées pour l'occasion” et donne une autre lecture de ces vers.

“Ne restent” = “Une question perdure”
“quelques mégots” = “c'qu'on a perdu ”
“des pistaches, restées fermées pour l'occasion” = “c'qu'on n'a pas connu”
