Coz yesterday I met a girl from Warsaw Far Far by M.I.A.

Warsaw is the capital of Poland, long effectively under Soviet Union control until its collapse in 1991. Warsaw has seen a lot of war, including extensive damage in WWII.

Me, 'Te and El' bout to prove 'em wrong though Think Good Thoughts by Drake (Ft. Elzhi & Phonte)

Drake, Phonte', and Elzhi use this track to disprove the then-prevalent stereotype that rappers are materialistic and don’t rap about things that affect the listener at a personal level.

To the contrary, these three make meaningful and relatable music in this song.

We done with that
It's a rap, keep it up and get your tongue detached
Come on
Trampoline by Hopsin

The time of the corny, unserious, charismatic-yet-uniform mainstream rap is over. Move with the change, take pride in your music or lose the voice you once entertained millions with.

This is also a play on the phrase ‘it’s a wrap’. Hop says that much is over, stop. Eventually, the same old same old becomes a nuisance. At the same time ‘it’s a rap’, meaning take pride in your being a rapper and take the lyrical aspect of the game seriously.

Stop half-assing.

Wish I was stacking cream, wish I had a Lamborghini Trampoline by Hopsin

Despite his relative success as a rapper, Hopsin still yearns for some of the higher class perks of being a rapper. This verse, like many of his others, is focused on defying the radio stereotypes for rappers. While he deftly does so, he acknowledges that the ones that conform get more money and nicer things for doing so.

Things like this.

A lot of you drink and smoke, suck a lot of dick on the low and probably got HIV I'm Not Introducing You by Hopsin

The classic profile of a ho', one that drinks, smokes weed, gives head, and probably has a STD. She’s not the type of girl who you’d want in a relationship, despite the fact that she’s down for pretty much anything and give it up in a heartbeat.

Like you my friends and you just a henchman, I feel relentless Backwards by Kendrick Lamar (Ft. Tame Impala)

In the style of a true revolutionary, Kendrick starts questioning the commitment to revolution of those he calls his friends, either questioning their allegiances or attacking their lack of action backing their belief, calling them merely henchmen, foot soldiers, without independent thought.

Lupe Fiasco puts this concept well. Just listening to Pac, ain’t gon' make it stop. You have to act, not just believe.

Kendrick is on the warpath, (which isn’t surprising), and is relentless in his attacking of anything and anyone not fully devoted.

You better go down on me while I feel my high My High by Tinashe

Like a split-second shot at glory, Tinashe and her high represent the climax of their potential for the night. Just a moment too soon or late, and the potential is gone, but striking at the right moment has glorious rewards.

In that moment of the peak of her high is when she asks her man to go down on her (oral sex) and get the pot of gold she’s been hiding.

The things that you learnt in class is trash
You can't do nothin' wit' it,
Caught Up by Ol' Dirty Bastard (Ft. Mack 10 & Royal Flush)

This line shadows the longstanding debate of the practicality of the lessons taught in primary and secondary (and at times even postsecondary) schools. There’s an argument that the skills taught in schools are irrelevant in the real world, while some of the more practical skills aren’t taught in schools.

Most people strongly agree with the need for practical school lessons.

ODB mirrors that argument from the viewpoint of an outsider, slamming the school systems by slamming the product of them, educated citizens without skills suited for work environments.

, bullets tend to ricochet Queenzbridge Zoo by Vince Staples

Missed bullets remain lethal threats beyond their intended target, where they can ricochet (bounce off or be redirected by the environment) in various directions. This makes them a threat to other people and a reason why second-degree murder) exists as it is.
