For a while, there was a record label battle over who gets to sign R.A. He eventually chose Jive Records. Here, he reveals that Def Jam offered him more money than Jive did.

More money doesn’t mean that it’s the best choice to go with.

Danimal Lector lays out a pretty bold boast here: Having the talent to lyrically kill all of your favorite rappers in a battle.

“Ghost” is a reference to the Patrick Swayze), where the main character Sam Wheat is killed early on in the movie, turning into a ghost.

It’s also a way of saying that the person he’s battling is going to be left dead afterwards.

Uh oh, D Lector, are we catching you referencing Seinfeld?

In the infamous comedy series, there is an episode where Jerry Seinfeld (a comedian) goes to a hecklers job and heckles them about the way they do their job, as a way of revenge when the heckler heckled him the night before. It’s heckle mania in that episode.

In short: D Lector doesn’t care about how you think he should do things. He’s doing his career the way he wants to.

Danimal Lector, in this song, has characterized himself as his younger self, whom I will refer to as Lil' Lector throughout my explanations.

Lil' Lector’s school life is pretty shitty thanks to bullying. It gets to the point where he doesn’t even want to be noticed – at least that will gain him some peace.

[Verse One: Danimal Lector]

Y'all know me, got an oz of that O.G kush
Oh me, oh me, oh my, so high
I'mma piss and tell you it's rainin'
Everybody loves me like I'm Raymond
All I'm saying is bitch I'm famous
Head full of shit like a dick in your anus
Yes, I've risen to greatness
No religion could save this
I'm wasted and plastered
In outer space like I'm NASA
White in the face like I'm Casper
Basically baked like a cracker
So take this, you slackers
In the faces, you bastards
And I'm from a place they call Stratford
White boy, but no relation to Asher
I'mma pop up, like Jason and grab ya
With a blade that looks like it came off a tractor
Brain hanging after, chainsaws and laughter
Maniac, with a Masters in disasters
In the back, I am slaughtering crews
Make a move, I got audibles dude
I'm awkward and rude, gawking at you
Bitch, suck dick, out-clocking his crew
You ain't shit, face it
Back to the basics
Jack, I'm proud of my aces
Leave you with a belly full of lead like you ate some pages
Buddy, buddy, loosen your laces
Never see me badder type
I'm out of this world like a satellite
You're the faggot type
I don't even know what being average is like
So tell me, I bet that you would know
All day in the studio
Making hits, but truly though
I'm the shit, you can call me booty-hole
No Coolio, but I'm in paradise
Life's a game, but like a pair of dice
I'm on top, yes very nice
Good thing I ain't scared of heights
Y'all know me, still the same L-E-C-T-O-R
Smellin' me, like you're smelling pee
You're probably thinking who the hell is he?
Well you see, you mumbling bum
You're done, I've come with an abundance of puns
Against me your chance is a hundred to one
Only thing I'm under is the sun
Ring your doorbell, punch and run
Just for some fun
Fuck it, I'm dumb
Tighter than the buns on a nun
Iron liver, with a tough set of lungs
Yup, here he comes
Hut, hut, hike!
It's General Custard with a rusty pipe
Like FUCK YOUR LIFE
Here we go again

Danimal Lector’s parents experienced a miscarriage before eventually trying again and giving birth to Danimal. An indian giver is someone who gives something and then takes it back.

So (if you believe in the Christian faith), God gave Danimal’s parents a baby, only to eventually take it back.

“In Death, I am born” is a tattoo of Danimal’s, which is a dedication to his older brother that he would have had.

He goes more in depth with it in this video, starting at 6:10

So shut the fuck up, haters! He is DANIMAL LECTOR, Not Eminem.

“Stan” is a song by Eminem, centering around an obsessed fan that eventually kills himself and his pregnant girlfriend because he thinks Eminem is ignoring him out of spite.

Also, “I don’t wanna be Slim” is a double entendre:

  1. He’s himself, he doesn’t wanna be like anyone else.

  2. Danimal is really built, a fact he’s proud of. He doesn’t wanna be like a lot of the other white rappers, who are all fairly thin.
