Slug was never much for for independent thinking and criticism

Through life their are many distractions which can affect our vision, clouding our judgement of life and the situations we come across. A common theme in Slug’s music is his acceptance of his flaws and distractions and how he deals with them including, alcohol, drugs, women and acceptance of not only other people, but himself. Vision can be interpreted as his physical vision or aspirations

Eyedea is saying that it was fate for him to be forever haunted. This line relates to (or any alteration of) the phrase ‘We cannot change the cards we are dealt’, life may be like a card game and you may not be able to change the hand you’re dealt but have to play with what you have. This may also be related to Tarot Cards which have been used since the 18th Century for divination (fortune telling)

All human beings are different and unique, but as a unit, when somebody observes the experiences and emotions that take place, you can see the similarities between everybody, we’re all united through our emotions, our humanity

Music is something so diverse and so artistic it is universal and able for almost anybody to relate to and understand, the same can be said for our emotions, at some point in their lives many people have experienced angusih, pain and torment and can therefore relate

The four Greek thinkers mentioned earlier are considered pioneers in Western Philosophy. As philosophers, the topics they discussed either together or in their respective works dealt with a vast amount of topics and the one in particular, which encompasses a wide range of matters, mentioned by Martin Luther King, Jr, are the issues of reality. Plato was a key thinker of such topics and they’re addressed in detail in his work ‘The Republic’.

The Parthenon is a temple situated in Athens, a city with agreat history and influence on Greek culture. The Parthenon is thought to have been built around 432 BC and is a widely recognized monument of Ancient Greece

Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece and one of the tallest mountains in Europe. It is featured heavily in ancient Greek mythology as the mythical home of the ‘Olympians’ famously led by Zeus
