Ray Lewis was a star linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens. He is now retired.
This line could mean one of two things. The first being that when Ray Lewis was gaining weight during the season, he wasn’t doing it to improve his play. He wasn’t purposely doing it. It was a bad thing. The second meaning is that when Ray Lewis gained weight during the season, he wasn’t playing around. The extra weight made his hits harder.

Killah grew up in Staten Island, New York, which the Clan refers to as “Shaolin.”
At the time he was growing up, Shaolin was a bad place to be. It had high crime rates, and was a very violent area. Ghostface saw people coughing up blood at the slightest hiccup because they had been shot and were sick. He saw people grabbing injured body parts after being “stuck up” which essentially means robbed via gunpoint. The phrase comes from the fact that by holding a gun up to someone, you force them to stick their hands up to ensure they won’t try anything.
