Bill Trinen explains that you can now fulfill your childhood dream of seeing which of your toys would win in a battle.

Amiibo toys are small toy figures of famous Nintendo characters. When placed on the Wii U gamepad (and later on the 3DS pad), the figures come to life. Games compatible include Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Brothers 4, and Mario Party 10.

The fight scene begins with Satoru Iwata, CEO of Nintendo, and Reggie Fils-Aime, President of Ninttendo of America, actually fighting, anime style. Iwata and Reggie then whip out Wii U controllers and start as themselves battling in Super Smash Bros.

This reveals that Mii’s are now in the game, much like in Mario Kart 8.

The intro also reveals that there is Amiibo capability in Super Smash Bros Wii U, because Satoru brings out a Mario Amiibo and brings him into the game. This will make 2 games Amiibo compatable, the second being Mario Party 10.

In this teaser, Kid Icarus is in a battle with Link. Suddenly, Lady Palutena appears and saves Kid Icarus from his beatdown. This is all in an anime cutscene.

Then gameplay is shown displaying all of her special moves. Here’s a list

Heavenly light – Wide spread of light projectiles

Explosive flame – Grenade like bomb thrown in an arc

Warp – A simple teleport move, across to the other side of an area

Rocket jump – Jump up in the air quite a ways, leave a wide area of explosives on the ground

Reflect – Throws up a shield that can deflect projectives back, and block attacks

Auto reticle – Automatically aims at the closest enemy at fires multiple lasers at them

Jump glide – Jump up in the air the same distance as rocket jump, and glide across the map the same distance as warp.

Counter – Counters the next move if timed right

Super speed – Dashes across the map, damaging all enemies in the way

Celestial fireworks - Uppercut the enemy into the sky. They then start exploding mid air.

Lightweight – Runs across the screen really fast?

Black hole – Creates a massive black hole drawing in nearby enemies, damaging them

Mega laser – Massive red laser shoots out in a straight line

Sackboy is in the game as usual. Sackboy was the protagonist for the first two LittleBigPlanets, but this time he is joined by 3 other characters.

Oddsock is the first new character revealed. His special abilities are wall jumping and the fact that he is the fastest character.

The next character is Toggle. Toggle is the strongest and heaviest character in the game, with a special ability allowing him to shrink down into the smallest character.

The final character is Swoop. This birdlike creature can fly for his special ability. This allows for other characters to grab on to him/her and be transported.
