Just in case you don’t hear enough about Tim Tebow, he was seen doing a catching drill at practice, which immediately set the internet/ESPN/everything into a frenzy about his position on the Patriots. Could he be playing Wide Receiver??? Tight End??? A HYBRID ROLE???

Offensive Coordinator Josh McDaniels laid all rumors to rest by telling reporters that he only takes part in those drills because he has the potential to be a ballcarrier as a scrambling quarterback, and that other quarterbacks that he has coached such as Matt Cassell and Doug Flutie have also participated in similar drills.

Tim Tebow takes runs the third-team offense as quarterback, wears a read non-contact quarterback jersey, and only participates in quarterback meetings. He will be a backup quarterback this season. Nothing else.

The 3rd-year player out of Clemson was expected to start at defensive end for the Redskins, but will now have to sit out the first four games of the season without pay. Jarvis said he took an over-the-counter supplement without the approved “NSF” label, which ultimately led to his positive test. He appealed the suspension but the league ruled against him.

Jenkins missed his rookie season in 2011 due to a right knee injury, and returned last year to start 14 games and record 25 tackles. He was ready for a breakout season this year, but if that’s still going to happen, he’s going to have to do it in 12 games.

The reigning Super Bowl champion Ravens are seeing their chances to repeat slip further and further away. After an already brutal offseason where they saw a lot of big players leave, the Ravens lost their starting tight end to a dislocated hip suffered during a collision with safety James Ihedigbo during Saturday’s practice. He underwent surgery that night, and will miss the entire 2013-2014 season.

Pitta was very productive for the champs last year. He caught 61 passes for 669 yards and 7 touchdowns last season, and added 163 yards and three touchdowns during their playoff run. Even more unfortunately for him, he was entering the last year of his contract and was hoping to continue to make a big impact so he could get a big deal next year.

Baltimore has since picked up former Vikings TE Visanthe Shiancoe to fill the hole in their roster.

Jeremy Maclin tore his right ACL during non-contact drills. He underwent surgery on July 30th to repair it. This is terrible news for both Maclin and the Eagles. Maclin is entering the final year on his five-year rookie contract, and was looking to have a great season and make bank on his 2014 contract, a notion that has since disappeared.

The Eagles have also lost a huge weapon in their new high-octane offense led by new Head Coach Chip Kelly. The former Oregon Ducks coach plans to implement an extremely fast-paced offense led by dual-threat quarterback Michael Vick. Maclin’s incredible speed (along with that of fellow wide receiver Desean Jackson) was going to play a huge role in the offense’s success, so others players are now going to have to step up in his absence.

It looks like the game-changing Wide Receiver’s first year with the Seahawks is going to be a rough one. Harvin was traded from the Vikings in March, but it looks like he won’t be able to play for at least 10 weeks, as he needs arthroscopic surgery to repair the labrum in his hip. He will undergo surgery on August 1st.

This is a huge blow to the Seahawks who thought that the off-season acquisition of a dynamic wide receiver would create even better matchups for other receivers like Golden Tate this season.

The Black Mamba was thinking with his black mamba in 2003, when he was accused of rape by a 19 year-old hotel employee in Colorado. The criminal case was later dropped when the accuser refused to testify against him. However, the civil suit filed by the accuser was settled out of court with undisclosed terms.

Kobe tearfully admitted to having adulterous sex with the woman, but insisted that everything was consensual.

America seems very quick to forgive athletes who commit adultery as with, here as well, Tiger Woods. In the aftermath of the charges filed against him, Kobe lost many endorsements with companies such as Nike and Coca-Cola. He has since regained these endorsements, and continues to be one of the best and most well-respected players in the NBA. He is also still married to his wife Vanessa.

After a good drive, Tiger tried to hit a Fairway Wood over 240 yards into the wind, but didn’t get enough on it and his ball ended up in a bunker. That (mental?) mistake led to a very tricky missed par putt on a green that nobody could seem to figure out.
