This “infinite” forest Lawrence speaks of is merely a jungle that seems to have no end to it – as in, it’s engulfed in trees, different creatures, and nature.

He suggests that he and his significant other should escape to the wilderness to never be found.

Lackluster is a compound adjective that means what it sounds like: if something is lackluster it lacks luster; in other words, it is without brilliance, shine, or vitality. Think dull.

His facial expression is blank and monotone-looking. Again, he puts emphasis on the message that he is “nothing.”

Continuing with the dark theme, he goes on to say that he was physically nothing. Also, he does not exist within the mind.

Lawrence begins this poem with a very dismal stanza. He believes that before he experienced constant misfortune and pain, he was meaningless.

Other shades, tints, and hues signify different things. Since dark blue is more soothing as opposed to several other shades of blue, it also makes him feel better. Not to mention, but music added onto looking at the midnight atmosphere is a great combination.

Dark blue can be seen as elegant, rich, sophisticated, and intelligent.

Sitting on the grass and watching the sunset are a way to feel better. Besides, he’s getting fresh air.
