Tupac had Thug Life tatted on his stomach

Makaveli was another name Tupac went by—a reference to the 15th-16th century political philosopher Niccolo Machiavelli.

It’s interesting to note that Ross adlibs “Babyyy” after this line, which was a famous Biggie adlib, even though Ross is shouting out 2Pac.

“Rich Forever” is also a Ross song and mixtape.

He is referring to himself as being a night person and the moon illuminates or reveals his problems and he is tempted to turn to drugs or be “consumed by my doom” to cope with these night terrors and insomnia. That period at night when you’re contemplating all of your struggles can truly be terrifying if you can’t come to terms with your problems.

Cudi also acknowledges in interviews he was extremely depressed in NYC and would be up listening to Ratatat at night. When the moon would come out he knew that he was going to be up and depressed, he fears this as his “doom”.

The line stands out with its internal rhyme made through six same sounding vowels, a poetic device called assonance:

The moon will illuminate my room and soon I’m consumed by my doom

The exact line is also to be found in “My Homie” from the same album. This shows the distinction between Habits and Contradictions. Blessed represents the Contradiction to hood life. “Stay Blessed” instead of “stay violent”. Yet in “My Homie”, Q talks about the habitual gang life cycle of violence with bars filled with revenge and plotting.

I think “track tourniquets” is him trying to say that his songs work as a tourniquet– they stop the bleeding.
Also, tourniquets might be a play on the previous line of “Servin' kids, track” where “track” might refer to track marks from intravenous drug use. “Servin' kids” could also mean dealing drugs to them, which ties in the bit about serving kids, seeing track marks, and using tourniquets prior to injecting. It might also use drug use as a metaphor to how he’s drugging people with his music.
