The semantic field of food is quite interesting in these lines. At first there is a reference to a baker’s dozen, which shows that he doesn’t feel that he has what he needs, or that he’s ever gonna get that, plus more. Additionally, we could say that he feels disturbed when with her, as in the last line he states he’s “crumbling”

One might also want to note the double-meaning to the word “peace” (“piece”), fitting nicely with the semantic field of food.

John Gotti is a notorious mobster who has been mentioned many times in rap before, and there is even a rapper who took on a similar name. Here Natti is basically saying America loves gangsters (again).

This Missy collab features Cole talking about the ladies and wondering about his girl’s “number”. Maybe he should talk to Anna Faris.

The first verse of this song is widely considered one of J Cole’s best. He litters the verse with internal and multisyllabic rhymes, and some quotable lines.

This is a reference to the hook on Snoop’s first ever song “Deep Cover” where he states on the hook:

Cause it’s 1-8-7 on a undercover cop

The lines above (when he talks about making hits with Dre) links these two, as Dr Dre was on “Deep Cover” with Snoop. As we know, they went on to make many, many, hits together, whether Dre featured on the song or just produced it.
