Joey responds to Joell’s reasoning as to why he didn’t step in with the beef between Joe and Raekwon, saying that it’s love.

Note just like Joell called Joe ‘Jump off’ and ‘Mouse’, Joe calls Joell by his old stage name ‘Quik’ showing their history.

Bird of Feather discusses the difficulties Flynn encountered due to being separated from his family and home. Sharing Space was recorded over 8 months in America, distancing the band members from their hometown of Bondi, Sydney Australia.

Flynn left his partner and 3-year old daughter home during the process and contemplates if working towards a better future is worth sacrificing the present.

Flynn: “That’s the heart of the song there – that conundrum that faces us all. Everyone is having to work harder and longer, and in most cases both parents, just to get by. It’s a consequence of the global predicament that everyone sees less of each other."

There’s another dimension: it’s also a reference to the political side of Cog’s music.

Flynn sees the music as an attempt to call the world’s attention to problems (hence the name of the album name “sharing space”). In other words, by singing and telling the story, he’s trying to make the world a better place for his daughter, but at the same time it comes at the cost of spending time with her.

Titty in my left hand
Drunk as a freshman on his tenth keg stand
Got a sophomore, all jaw, give me drunk head
Roommate joined in, climbing down from the bunk bed

Joell also plays off the group’s name; no party’s like a Slaughterhouse party.

Joe Budden has a reputation for throwing the BIGGEST house parties

A mink is basically a high-class ferret, with fur used for luxury clothing and rugs.

A used mink is ‘bittersweet’, it’s a tainted prize–Em made it, but he sacrificed a lot to get there.

Rest assured that Eminem did in fact say “mink”: it says so in the digital booklet. It also fits the rhyme scheme: “mink,” “shrink,” “think.”

Never one to shy away from the truth, Joey delivers personal lyrics with not-so-subtle frustration towards the management side of rap for putting album promotion before his family’s needs. Peep his verse from “Gone” for similar unfiltered thoughts to his label.

Joe contextualised the verse during a 2015 WatchLOUD interview.
