High School was an important time for Large Professor (as it is for most people). It was during that time that Large Professor honed his skills as a rapper and producer that allowed him to move on to bigger and better things.

The Kid Daytona uses references to tell the listener his name and where he’s from. Daytona Beach, Florida, USA is a famous city in Florida that most people are aware of. You might not know who The Kid Daytona is but now when you think of him, think of the beach.
Also, Daytona wants fans to wave their hands in the air like a Daytona Beach wave.
The “wave them, hands in the air” line also connects with the following lines regarding Hip-Hop & KRS-ONE. “Wave your hands in the air” is a classic Rap call-and-response command. Hip-Hop started out in the South Bronx, NYC, USA. KRS-One is a legendary rapper from the South Bronx who got his start in Hip-Hop as part of the group, Boogie Down Productions. Daytona is acknowledging that he too is from the South Bronx and considers himself part of that Hip-Hop legacy that KRS started.

Action Bronson has a great attorney. He can get arrested in the afternoon but will get out at night the same day. This could also be a reference to Night Court, a courtroom sitcom that aired from 1984-1992. The show used to air at 8:30pm, so Bronson would make it back from court at least before 8:30. Everybody knows how much Bronson loves to drop an obscure 80’s or 90’s pop culture reference.

A retainer agreement is a contract between a client and attorney in which the client pays in advance or pays a recurring fee for the extended service of an attorney (or until the case is concluded).
Retainers are custom made orthodontic devices worn by people for a certain amount of time before or after braces. Since most people get braces during their teenage years, Bronson is referencing teenage girls in this line.

Heems has a deadly flow and dangerous lyrics (darts). His rhymes will take down any rapper. He compares it to former wrestler, Owen Hart, who “dropped” to his death in 1999 during a taping of the WWF’s Over The Edge pay-per-view event. Hart, as his alter ego, The Blue Blazer, was scheduled for a match in which he was going to enter the ring using a harness and grapple line. Unfortunately, he released the harness too early and fell nearly 78 feet to his death.
