Beres is reflecting on “Golden Era” of reggae where the songs really made you groove, seem to no longer exist

Not only that but also the past being safer in the lines “someone’s bound to come and try to spoil the show” speaks to either violence/fights erupting at dances/shows or the police coming to “lock-off di dance” both stopping the show and the fun it brings
