These lines could refer to just the above (“Even evaded her presence at our graduation procession”), or it could refer to all of the song. He thought about what he could have said, how she would have reacted, and what would have happened.

He began to ignore his strong feelings for her instead of thinking about it all the time. To minimize his obsession, he even had to avoid her at the graduation, because the feelings involved would be too strong for him to handle. This ultimately led to their friendship ending

At this point he has partially given up on her, and he can see that this girl has everybody around her falling in love with her. He sees that he’s just another one of those, and doesn’t really stand out

At this point, she considers him her friend. Tone thinks it is too risky to ask her out, because it may ruin their friendship. He can’t step up and do it because of this, even though his most sincere wish is to date her

His self esteem is almost non existent, so in his eyes, her kissing him is only something happening in his dreams

Girls mature faster than boys, and that is a fact. Therefore, when girls hit puberty, they usually seek boys who are older than themselves to compensate for the faster development. Also, when they hit puberty they become a little more aware of their body’s sexual signals, and they will start to use them to get the boys.

Continuing from the previous line, in which Tone at this point in the song is a teenager going through puberty.

2. Tone is saying that nothing in his life is how he wants it to be, especially with the girl from the first verse

He’s grown a bit, now his obsession is also driven by lust, and he’s hoping to see her in the summer

Continuing the lines above, he doesn’t say anything to his crush whenever she hooks up with a new boy. In fact, he helps her every time she breaks up with a new guy, and gives her advice on how to get over it. She is very thankful, but she just doesn’t see Tone as more than a friend.

Even though she continously switched out her boyfriends, Tone stayed strong in his faith that he was the one and only for her.
