Referring to the incidents listed in the above lines, counting murders from Poland to Africa and Middle East to the U.S..

Meaningless murder happens all around the world, all the time, and there’s nowhere you can flee to. The problem is too huge for one man to handle, so Kasek asks you to join him in doing the only thing possible:
#Pray

Trayvon Martin got fatally shot on the 26th of February 2012, only 17 years old. He was shot by a police officer who claimed that Martin attacked him, forcing him to shoot him in self-defense.

Naming this incident among these others implies that Kasek does not believe that it was a case of self-defense – instead he believes that it was cold blooded murder

It was too early in Jonylah’s life to even begin to understand who she might’ve grown up to become. Kasek even wonders if she might’ve grown up to be the very person who could cleanse the world from evil.

It refers back to the earlier line:

I really try to believe that good ain’t dead

These lines further emphasizes the tragedy of an infant’s death, since it has every possibility in the world ahead of it.

When something as tragic as the cold-blooded murder of an innocent infant happens, you’ll begin to doubt if the good even exists in the world – how could it happen?

Jonylah was only 6 months old – too young to ever have done anything wrong, too young to be tainted by the hardships of the world. She was a blank page in the book of life, but the murderer ruined her chance to grow up.

Even though Kasek is residing in Poland and has never seen Chicago on first hand, hearing about the tragic death of Jonylah Watkins still had so much impact on him that he decided to write this poem.

It’s an example of how meaningless brutality affects much more than just the directly involved people – it sends ripples of emotions through the entire world.

How can you shoot an innocent baby?

A funny stab at the current hipster trend, which is very popular among todays youth. A common generalization of the hipster trend is that they dress like homeless or very poor people.

It’s a very ironic situation, since the people who has the money to buy the expensive clothes making them look broke, is the exact opposite of who they’re trying to look like. People who’re actually broke will try to seek the rags-to-riches dream, such as Dame Dash did.

Unlike other major cities in the world, New York is relatively new and does not host the same amount of classic art such as stained glass art, most notably known from churches around the world

Tone doesn’t see this as something negative though; he believes that the way art is expressed has changed over the years, and to him, graffiti art has the same degree of cultural importance and beauty as stained glass.
Graffiti depicts the current state of mind all around the city.

Tonedeff’s fellow label mate PackFM is a renowned graffiti artist. He features his “tag” on all of his releases

This line serves as an intelligent way of expressing Tone’s view on modern art and culture being just as impressive as more antique art despite the more rebellious way it’s created. He acknowledges the art of the past, but accepts that times has changed.

Tone is from New York City, the city that this track is about. NYC has arguably the most widely recognized skyline in the world, a skyline so famous that it has become the archetype of how a skyline looks

The lights of New York, city that never sleeps, is so bright that you’ll find yourself blinded.

It also serves as a metaphor. The beauty of the city is so immense that you might get overwhelmed by it – it’s so different from what you’re used to.
