OrelSan est un rappeur, acteur et réalisateur français né le 1er août 1982. Il est membre du duo Casseurs Flowters qu'il forme avec le rappeur Gringe.
De son vrai nom Aurélien Cotentin, il naît à Alençon où il y grandit jusqu'à ses 16 ans avant d'emménager à Caen, en Calvados. Il commence à avoir de la notoriété grâce à son Myspace, notamment avec les titres “Saint Valentin” et “Sale pute” parus entre février et juin 2007. L'année suivante, le rappeur se fait repéré par le label 3ème Bureau de Skread avec lequel il signera un contrat. Le 16 février 2009, l'artiste dévoile son premier album studio de quinze titres nommé Perdu d'avance qui sera certifié disque de platine au bout de dix ans et deux mois. Lors de la 27e cérémonie des Victoires de la Musique, le Caennais remporte deux prix : Artiste révélation du public de l'année ainsi que l'Album rap ou musique urbaines de l'année.
Le 26 septembre 2011 paraît son deuxième album studio, Le chant des sirènes, porté par le titre “Suicide social”. Le projet, qui contient une collaboration avec son compère Gringe, est certifié double disque de platine en cumulant plus de 200 000 ventes à travers l'Hexagone.
Plus de six ans de pause, le rappeur revient en solo avec le morceau “Basique” annonçant la sortie d'un nouvel album. C'est le 20 octobre 2017 qu'il sort son troisième album solo intitulé La fête est finie ayant bénéficié d'une réédition de onze titres nommée Épilogue. Cet opus connaîtra un grand succès puisqu'il obtiendra la certification de double disque de diamant, en plus d'avoir tous les quatorze morceaux de ce projet certifiés. Il obtient par ce biais trois nouvelles récompenses aux Victoires de la Musique 2018 : celle de l'Artiste masculin de l'année, de l'Album de musiques urbaines de l'année et de la Création audiovisuelle pour “Basique”.
Le 19 novembre 2021, OrelSan sort son quatrième album studio, Civilisation, annoncé par le single “L'odeur de l'essence” paru deux jours plus tôt. Il bat ainsi le record de ventes en une semaine avec 138 929 ventes et le disque de diamant le plus rapide en seulement cinq mois.
Orelsan est originaire d'Alencon (61) “originaire d'une petite ville du 61” (Inachevé), et il a très tôt emménagé à Caen.

Il forme le duo Casseurs Flowters avec Gringe depuis 2000.
C'est au debut des années 2000 que Orelsan rencontrer Skread, un beatmaker ayant travaillé pour Diams, Booba, Nessbeal…
Skread aura produit sur tous les projets de Orelsan. Avec Ablaye, Skread créé la Septième Magnitude, le label où Orelsan a signé à ses débuts.
En 2000, Orelsan forme le groupe Casseurs Flowters avec Guillaume Tranchant, alias Gringe. Le nom vient du duo des Casseurs flotteurs du film “Maman, j'ai raté l'avion”. Le changement pour flow signifie la manière de rapper des rappeurs.
En 2004, ils publient leur première mixtape “Fantasy”. C'est lors de ce projet que le ton des rappeurs est donné. À la fois comique et décalé dans “Je vais baiser ta femme” et à la fois sérieux et technique dans “Les petites notes”.
Pendant plusieurs années, le groupe est assez absent pendant que la carrière d'Orelsan commence à prendre de l'ampleur. Ils apparaissent ensemble dans “Saint-Valentin” puis plus tard en featuring dans “Entre bien et mal” et “Ils sont cools” :
“C'est le retour du groupe de rap le moins productif”
C'est à ce moment que les Casseurs Flowters se remettent en marche avec leur 1er album en 2013
