Gentrifisering er et fenomen i store byer som innebærer at arbeiderklassestrøk blir forvandlet til bydeler for mer velstående befolkningsgrupper. Samtidig forsvinner den opprinnelige befolkningen, bl.a. på grunn av økende boligpriser i området.
Det tidligere arbeiderklassestrøket Grünerløkka har opplevd dette fenomenet. Økte boligpriser førte til at den tradisjonelle befolkningen, stort sett bestående av arbeidere og invandrere, ble “erstattet” av akademikere og bedre stilte. Den tidligere befolkningen søkte seg til drabantbyene lenger øst i Oslo.
Denne prosessen er nå også i gang i bydelen Grønland.

Hvilken Nilsen er mest Oslo?
- Oslodikteren Rudolf Nilsen, en av Norges største lyrikere gjennom tidene?
- Oslomusikeren Lillebjørn Nilsen, også kalt Visekongen?
- Osloartisten Joachim Nielsen, grunnlegger og frontfigur i Jokke & Valentinerne – en gruppe som har spilt en stor rolle i norsk rock-historie?
At han repper Oslo er ikke den eneste likheten mellom Don Martin og de tre “Nilsen”. Etter rundt 20 år i rap-gamet har han markert seg som en stor dikter (Rudolf Nilsen) og musiker (Lillebjørn Nilsen), og sammen med Gatas Parlament ledet han den norskspråklige rapbølgen som rullet over landet tidlig på 2000-tallet, på samme måte som Jokke & Valentinerne var en stor faktor i rockbølgen på slutten av 1980-tallet.
