The 2012 end of the world scare can be accredited to the Mayan Long Count calendar.

The Mayan calendar is projected back to being created in 3114 BCE, and was on a 5126 year cycle. So 5126 years after 3114 would be 2012 (Remember that you have to count to 0 if you are in BCE, and then add standard time. So, 3114 + 2012 = 5126).

This date marked the “end of the world” just as several other “catastrophes” in the past had. Of course it was all bogus and the world still spins today..

In some churches, a collection plate is sent around to collect gifts(generally money) from the congregation to be used as an offering to help support the church and/or charity.

Things are said to be “ghetto” if they are very run down, poverty-stricken, poor, etc… Placing a condom in the collection plate instead of money would be very ghetto.
