This song (and the entire EP, for that matter) is inspired by The Four Agreements by Miguel Angel Ruiz, the first of which is Be Impeccable With Your Word. These lines set up the coming lines which describe the power of the word. There are two possible meanings to this piece:

  1. The word (Be it Spoken or written) is a powerful tool, which, if used correctly, could help one thrive in this world; if used poorly, however, it can hurt one’s survival and happiness.

  2. The word (The Bible) has divine power, and if you live by it and believe in it, it can give you God’s friendship, which lead you to the promised land. If you choose not to, however, it can introduce you to Satan, and you could end up without God.

ACCEPTED COMMENT: He’s saying that Jokerr is hiding behind his Character. Dizzy Wright is a rapper who raps from experience and emotion, whereas Jokerr is a theatrical artist who wears makeup and masks. None of Jokerr’s music is personal, so no one really knows who he is. Because of that, Dizzy is saying he could be a good guy, but all we see is his alter ego.
