Lil Wayne ironically contradicts himself by saying ‘you never know’ after saying the common phrase “Never say never”.

This is also a sneak-shout-out to Justin Bieber, who’s most popular for his track Never Say Never. Weezy has collaborated with the pop star on the song Backpack.

New Orleans has been the victim of the government turning their back to them a lot of times. Weezy is most likely talking about the construction of the levees, which were considered ‘the worst civil engineering failure in the history of the United States’.

Weezy was named after his father, Dwayne Michael Carter, but didn’t like being remembered of his absent-father every time he heard his name. He’s made an amazing life without the ’D' in his name, so he’d never use it.

I dropped the D because I’m a junior and my father is living and he’s not in my life and he’s never been in my life. So I don’t want to be Dwayne, I’d rather be WayneLil Wayne

Wayne, being the versatile rapper he is, references two soap operas: The Young And The Restless & Guiding Light.

What he actually means by this line is that he’s a busy young hustler, and that he mentors and cares for his whole crew. On pretty much every mixtape Weezy has, he’s featured new signees heavily on each one to get them some publicity.

Triple Entendre

  1. Weezy makes enough money to ‘make it rain’ by throwing cash.
  2. To go along with the fact that he’s “the hurricane, son”, he can make his girl’s vagina wet.
  3. He also references his home town, New Orleans, which got hit with one of the most destructive hurricanes ever: Hurricane Katrina. If you read the line “I’m the hurricane(’s) son”, you can interpret it as Wayne saying the hurricane made him the person he is today, like a mother would. Very subtle seeing as what the whole idea of the song is much simpler than that.

Triple Entendre

  1. Weezy plays with womens emotions, and he’s the best at it. Women are oblivious to the fact that he doesn’t care about them so they still cheer.
  2. He also makes the most money selling drugs out of his whole clique. Women love money.
  3. Wayne wants this line to be taken literally.
