Dr. Seuss is known for incorporating morals into his books. Oh, the Places You’ll Go! is no exception: it focuses on helping children (or young people–the book is often given to graduates) realize their potential in life.
Like the rest of the book, this passage is cheerful, motivational, and applicable to a wide array of situations. It encourages independence, self-confidence, and self-determination. Think of it as a Seussified version of Ralph Waldo Emerson’s “Self-Reliance.”
