Xavier believes that his fathers constant battles with drugs and lust are interfering with their ability to develop a fully functional father son relationship

Although there is little information on Earl’s grandma; Mary Ella Holloway, it is known that she died of cancer around the 2000 mark. During that time, X decided to stop being so reliant on drugs and became a ‘clean’ man. However it all went downhill from there.

X also made the song I miss you which was featured on his fourth album ;The Great Depression, as a tribute to his grandma.

Iyanla Vanzant, a well-respected television host and relationship motivator/coach, who is known for her reality television series – Iyanla, Fix my life, recently (early 2013) did a series of episodes starring New York rapper DMX where she sought to fix his ongoing family and relationship issues.

As soon as the show aired it became clear to the public that DMX was still facing troubles with his drug addictions. More specifically, crack cocaine. With many speech deficiencies and inability to control his anger Iyanla soon realised that DMX was going to be tough to deal with, yet alone convince him that going into rehab for his addiction would be a wise-move.

However X didn’t express any concern for his addiction and that if he were to drop dead he’d have “fulfilled his duty anyway”.

Iyanla also reunited Earl with his first born son, Xavier, in attempt to fix their broken relationship. Despite the fact the two were clearly happy to see each other, they ended up in various disputes and the relationship did not progress.

At the end of the show X said

Iyanla didn’t fix my life, she made it worse

After the episodes concluded, Iyanla, who also felt as though she did not succeed in her goal of fixing his life, wrote this heartfelt letter to DMX further expressing her concerns for him. She said that she is still happy to help him out and that there are many loved ones who are worried for him.

Jin openly admits that he hasn’t gone into great depths when studying the theological aspect of Christianity. However he backs up his statement with the second line saying that you don’t need to hold a certain theological level of intelligence to receive the unyielding Grace from God. The Bible clearly states that anyone who believes in the Lord will have eternal life. There are no theological prerequisites.

Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.

I’m still alive – In a spiritual sense, Jin is alive and God has a future for him as this verse states.

It can all seem a bit baffling or even frightening for a secular person to hear or see Christians interacting with each other and God. This is because in most cases non-believers have never witnessed the immense power of the Lord thus they feel as though they cannot relate to what Jin is talking about or what seems so ‘great’ about God. However Jin wants people to know that you don’t have to be familiar with Christ to listen to his music – as his primary goal is to educate you about Him.
