From the official paper

“Although their function has not yet been clearly elucidated, interstitial telomeric sequences (ITSs) have been cytogenetically associated with chromosomal reorganizations, fragile sites, and recombination hotspots. In this paper, we show that ITSs are not located at the exact evolutionary breakpoints of the inversions between human and chimpanzee and between human and rhesus macaque chromosomes. We proved that ITSs are not signs of repair in the breakpoints of the chromosome reorganizations analyzed. We found ITSs in the region (0.7–2.7 Mb) flanking one of the two breakpoints in all the inversions assessed. The presence of ITSs in those locations is not by chance. They are short (up to 7.83 repeats) and almost perfect (82.5–97.1% matches). The ITSs are conserved in the species compared, showing that they were present before the reorganizations occurred.”

#The Great Ball Contraption (GBC)

The Great Ball Contraption is a fan-initiative LEGO project, which has no real goal other than to find the most complex way one ball can get from one place to another. According to Philippe Hurbain

Lego Technic or Mindsorms creations that all have a single task in mind – moving balls around! That’s it. However you want to do this is entirely up to you.

The concept stems from a Rube-Goldberg style contraption, only it is done with Legos. How complicated a way can you transfer Lego soccer balls from basket to another?

The famous quote that Horton, who is portrayed as a loving and caring elephant, is known for from Dr Seuss’s classic Horton Hears a Who! book. In it, Horton encounters a small speck of dust during his journey, and later finds that mystical human-like creatures, known as ‘Whos’, are living on what is actually a planet. The underlying message being that we should not dismiss people who may have less power than us, or seem small in comparison to us, as everyone counts.

Hence, this is ironic how Robot Chicken has changed this loving, caring elephant into a ‘not giving a sh*t’ elephant equipped with a flamethrower.

Paul's letter to the Galatians

Paul’s primary purpose in writing the epistle to the churches of Galatia regarded the principles of the Jewish law, most prominently that of circumcision. The epistle also deals with the issue of whether Jews and Gentiles should eat together, as Gentiles were not traditionally part of the covenant people (Galatians 2).

It is debated as to which parts of Galatia Paul was writing to. There is both the North and South Galatia hypothesis, the North dealing with the Celts and the South deals with the people within the confines of the Roman Province, a much larger territory. Scholars often look to the book of Acts to determine where Paul was at the time of writing this letter – which then leads to their conclusions of who Paul is writing to.

The North Galatia perspective was held by many of the early churches. It argues that the epistle was written shortly after Paul’s second visit to Galatia. This is mainly because of the similarities between Acts 15 and Galatians 2, which seem to correspond to Paul’s second missionary trip. This then denotes that the epistle was written around the time of 55, 56 AD.

The South Galatia theory is much more recent and was publicised by the notable Sir William Ramsay. “In this view Galatia is not a geographical designation but a Roman political designation for an area south of geographical Galatia” (Source: Wikipedia). This theory dates Galatians around about 47–49 AD

Of course, this means that the time in which the letter of Galatians was written cannot be verified with certainty, and depends on one’s personal view.

Mark Hamill is most prominently known for his role as Luke Skywalker in the first three Star Wars films. Since the announcement of the new Star Wars sequels, fans have been eager for him to return, alongside many of the other original actors.

Although it seems likely that Hamill will return according to various sources (and recent speculation says Hamill is ‘shaping up for Star Wars’, there has been no official press release (as of yet) from Disney confirming this.
