Jack is from Louisville, which is right across the river from Indiana. “Going across” is a phrase used by people in the Louisville area to describe driving on one of the bridges over the river to Indiana.

People from Louisville and people from Southern Indiana have no real distaste for each other, but it is not rare to hear the two groups constantly dissing each other’s place of residence for one reason or another. Moreover, the main bridge between Louisville and Southern Indiana charges a toll for people who “go across”, giving even more reason for Jack to not want to.

2forwOyNE, or 2fo as mentioned here, is Jack Harlow’s primary producer and the producer of this song. Jack has shouted him out on multiple occasions, always giving credit to his production skills. One example comes on the hit song “Dark Knight”, where he states:

Know this shit boom when we come down south and I had to bring my own Lil Metro
2for’s on it, man the kid psychotic

In this instance, he uses wordplay with the term “heavy”, stating that 2forwOyNE is coming through with good beats. This heaviness can be compared to the heavy weight you feel when bench pressing.

After Lil Peep’s death, his mother spoke on these feelings of his at a memorial service:

Gus understood that many people suffered injustice because of what they look like or how much money they had. He saw how the cool kids who lived in the fancy neighborhoods looked down on his friends who lived in the projects; and looked down on his own family who lived in an apartment and drove an old Nissan … Some of his friends' parents told their sons and daughters they didn’t want them to hang around with Gus. He cried when he told me about that … Gus wrote a song about wanting to burn his high school down. He didn’t like most of the adults there. He didn’t like the social scene.
