Saba opens up his Bucket List Project with a line that sets a positive tone for the rest of the album. To turn an obstacle obsolete is to render the obstacle ineffective; allowing you to pursue your goals. This mentality is shown from various different perspectives on the outros of songs throughout the album as different people state what items are on their bucket list.

Throughout Kanye’s tenure of success, he’s done much more than just rap and produce beats. One of his most meaningful personal ventures was into the fashion industry; releasing various Yeezy Season fashion lines and frequenting Paris Fashion Week. Additionally, he has stated plans to venture into various other business territories. This route is a far stray from the average rapper and the stereotyped social standard set for black men in America.

Furthermore, Kanye has spoken on this topic in a similar fashion on A$AP Rocky’s “Jukebox Joints”:

They wanna throw me under a white jail
Cause I’m a black man with confidence of a white male
Hallelujah

God is looking upon Charles with a higher standard and appreciation than that of the average man. He has struggled with negative thoughts and depression throughout his life and much of his music is based on these true, gritty emotions. Consequently, God wants Charles to understand that when he feels these negative thoughts it’s just her influencing him to make more music and relieve his stress.

Charles has mentioned his life of loneliness on various other instances — most notably on “Music (intro)” from The Pink Lavalamp:

No real friends
No real escape
No real end
So I’m gonna die with my music by my side and that’s true shit

It seems as if Charles has dedicated his entire life to his one true love: music. Consequently, the raps he makes are often so personal and complex that they’re hard for outsiders to understand. He elaborates further on this idea later in the song.

‘Redrum’ spelled backwards is ‘Murder’; this was highlighted in the Stephen King novel The Shining. Due to many of the ills Charles mentions throughout this track, it comes as no surprise that murder is on his mind.

“Primal” humans were the early humans — also called cavemen. Ugly God is saying his career is at an early stage.

Prior to this song’s release in 2015, not many people knew Ugly God’s name. However, the video has since racked up millions of views on YouTube. It’s safe to say he was right about stating his career was just beginning.

Jack’s mom introduced him to the classic Hip-Hop duo OutKast and their critically acclaimed 1998 album Aquemini. As a result, Jack became intrigued with the album and has studied it, presumably for tips and tricks to help improve his overall skill-set as a rapper.

Playing off a reference to Kanye West’s album The College Dropout, Jack elaborates on the fact that a friend of his was a dropout — possibly inspired by the Kanye West album. On a similar note, Jack personally decided to forgo college to chase a career in the music industry.
