There are many urban myths that having sex a certain number of times will make someone love you, and these are supported by studies that say that hormones released during sex do, in fact, lead to love..

Note how he doesn’t mention love or actual affection as his motive for wanting to sleep with her. He just wants to “own her” and go on with his life.

He has to suffer the consequences for his mental state, and the play on words here is that his heart will get the worst of it, aka “foot” the bill.
