Saba marks his return with “There You Go,” a new single co-produced by Oakland-based multi-instrumentalist Daoud and Saba himself. Rhyming with enthusiasm atop the soulful production, “There You Go” feels like a breath of fresh air for Saba, the newly turned 23-year-old Chicago rapper-producer whose fourth quarter 2016 release Bucket List Project earned critical acclaim and led to his first headlining North American tour this past March-April. Only his second new release since the project following “Monday to Monday.”
“There You Go” is the first new solo release from Saba since his cousin and fellow PIVOT artist John Walt aka DinnerWithJohn was murdered in Chicago in February. In honor of the fallen friend and family member, Saba recently announced ‘John Walt Day,’ a concert benefiting Chicago youth on Nov. 25th at House of Blues. Along with the concert, John Walt Day will mark the launch of the John Walt Foundation, which aims to work with and provide opportunities and funds for young Chicago artists.
Prior to John Walt Day, Saba has spot dates for Day N Night Festival in Orange County, CA on Sept. 10th, All Things Go Fest in D.C. on Oct. 7th, and A3C Fest in Atlanta on Oct. 8th, while he’ll be traveling overseas for his first headlining European tour in late October through early November – tickets for all shows are available here:
