Again paralleling the first verse, Lupe changes “blue” to “blew” here. He’s likely referring to people who are blessed with money but waste it on conspicuous consumption.

In some ways, the key line in the verse – the character is absolutely determined to get this new, exciting gadget, but is not even sure exactly what it is. When Lupe at the end of the line adds “son”. It resembles how children know more about the new gadgets than their parents who are the people purchasing the product.

He asks in character how Marathon Runners and Snipers do it, both of them having to go long time periods without bathroom breaks. They wear diapers.

Ever the understated writer, Lupe leaves it up to us to see the ridiculousness in someone being so caught up to buy a new product before anyone else (even though he’s not exactly sure what it is) that he is willing to resort to wearing adult diapers so as not to lose his place in line. The narrator seems not to see anything wrong with this, and is already thinking about coming back a “next time”

Lupe perfectly parodies ad-speak here – making something sound impressive, exciting, and even essential, while providing absolutely no substantive information about the product, which he pointedly leaves nameless throughout the verse
