At this point in his career 50 was building up his empire and went to visit Shyne in jail to try and get him to join his G-Unit team. Shyne refused the offer and later began talks with Ja Rule, 50’s arch enemy, to sign with Murder Inc. As a result of this Fif dissed Shyne in a radio freestyle. This made its way to Shyne in prison and he responded to this with his own freestyle over the phone.

50 pokes fun at Shyne for talking shit while in protective custody (PC) and states how he could easily pay off one of his connects in prison to kill Shyne and it wouldn’t cost that much.

Fatherhood is something men feel emotional about, so Stan uses that to connect with Eminem. Em has a daughter named Hailie whom he loves more than anything, being the topic of many songs.

Since Stan’s girlfriend is pregnant, the child will be out of wedlock. This describes Stan’s family, personal life and economic situation.

In Em’s song “‘97 Bonnie & Clyde” Hailie is “Bonnie” since Em takes his wife out of the picture. Stan’s kinship to this song has very disturbing results later on. Naming one’s daughter after this kind of song is already hinting towards the crazed mind of Stan.

The ‘'fat nigga’‘ refers to Fat Joe who also appeared on the track ’‘New York, and 50 Cent took his participation as a sign that he supported Ja. “Lean Back” was one of Fat Joe’s biggest hit singles, but it still didn’t match the success of 50’s hit ’‘In Da Club’‘. Also a double entendre: 50 implies that “Lean Back” wasn’t playing in clubs.

50 Cent’s Get Rich Or Die Trying sold 11 million records and Fat Joe’s All Or Nothing album didn’t even make it to 500,000.

Prostitution is one the most dangerous professions on the planet, with a murder rate 40 times the national average. “Out of pocket” means to be out of control – not a very wise move in the pimping business.

The “bottom bitch” is the top prostitute among the pimp’s other prostitutes (like a madame), but still on a lower level than the pimp him/herself.

Prostitution Structure:

Pimp <- Bottom bitch <- Other prostitutes

50 will insist the same way that Jermaine Dupri (J.D.) gives him his money. Da Brat was a rapper for J.D.’s So So Def Records. Unlike a gun (“gat”) she probably wouldn’t do much to deter 50 from robbing him.

This is also a reference to a passage from Goodfellas., as delivered by narrator Henry Hill (Ray Liotta):

Business bad? Fuck you, pay me. Oh, you had a fire? Fuck you, pay me. Place got hit by lightning huh? Fuck you, pay me.

One of the first – and most devastating – darts thrown in the long feud between 50 Cent and Ja Rule.

50 Cent has a criminal past, is capable of commiting crimes, so due to his reputation people automatically assume it’s got to be 50 Cent. This is not always the case and he would prefer if people stopped putting his name on acts he never committed. He later dedicated a whole song to this concept with “I Don’t Know Officer.”

The Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac and Big L are all deceased rappers who are often brought up when discussing the greatest rappers of all time. Mixing these three individuals' talents together would obviously result in a monster and they’d simply be the illest regardless of how you may feel about it.

A “juggernaut” is a term to describe a literal or metaphorical force regarded as unstoppable. The juggernaut line was later sampled by Slaughterhouse) in “Juggernauts.”

The lines were also later sampled in “What Do You Got” and referenced in ScHoolboy Q & A$AP Rocky’s “Brand New Guy.”

“White Man'z World” is the title of a 2Pac song.

Squirrels love nuts, but 50 Cent is a different kind of squirrel on the pursuit of a different kind of nut. To “nut” in this context is to ejaculate.

The daring “slut/butt/nut” rhyme was pioneered by D-12’s Bizarre on “Purple Pills.” R&B singer Oran “Juice” Jones also famously uses the squirrel-and-nut analogy on his 1986 hit “The Rain.”
