Since recording this verse, Pusha has gone onto release four solo projects, including his critically acclaimed debut solo album, My Name Is My Name. At the time, he was not signed to West’s G.O.O.D. Music (Getting Out Our Dreams) and was only in Hawaii to record. He spoke about the process in an interview with The Guardian:

Honestly, I was only supposed to stay in Hawaii for a weekend and I stayed for one month. By the time I came home, I was signed to [West’s label] Good Music.

With their copious amounts of cussing, sleeping with girls, and doing drugs, rappers come off as impious. Pusha feels like the CNNs of the world should respect rappers for their craft. Pusha talks a lot about this “young rich nigga” concept.

It could also follow the water and death metaphor to refer to the Styx River in Greek mythology. The ancient greeks would place a coin in the mouth of the deceased to pay the toll to cross the styx to the afterlife. The journey through Styx was also supposed to erase the memories of the deceased.

Actually i think he is implying that only the “radio” knows what is good for us ,so don’t try to syntonize another station. Thus they trying to make us think índice the box.
