Real U uses the word ‘suggestion’ to refer to what the norm of Hip-Hop supporters consider lyrically on-point or on-par.

This line works together with the previous two, stating that although modern Hip-Hop has become explicitly sensationalized (morbid collection of adjectives) in lyrics – it is considered lyrical and preferable (audible selection) to listeners.

Secondly, it suggests that modern-Hip Hop is false or not as credible as thought to be, as the word “suggestion” provides a negative connotation to what is considered supreme or definite.

Real U relocated to St Helena Bay on the West Coast of South Africa in December, 2009. This town of which he then lived is contrary to that of where he moved from. Described as peaceful and tranquil, the environment shaped Real U’s development as an adolescent.

The use of “the sunshine” can either be:

  • The sunrise in St Helena Bay which is both beautiful and remarkable as it rises over the sea
  • Figuratively seeing or understanding things clearly as visibly as one would see in daylight by the light which the sun provides. This light can also be seen as Jesus, as Real U learned to grow spiritually whilst living in St Helena Bay.
