P is a black eye on the mainstream rap scene meaning he is out of place and against the grain.

P’s not down with all the gimmicks and immaturity he see’s in rap today so he’s really not even fuckin' with the mainstream rap culture.

It’s become popular to rap about smoking on the purp, referring to the strand name of certain weed, but P doesn’t give a fuck what it’s called because its still green.

Fans were not happy with P when word spread he was retiring. But just to show what a good guy he is, he’s back spittin' it.

This is a metaphor for P’s flow ruining your life, frying you, tearing you apart, and then not even having the decency to let you be remembered…now stick with me as I explain.

Dwight “Malachi Z” York was a musician, writer, and cult leader of a number of black, quasi-Islamic groups, most notably the Nuwaubian Nation.

Although Malachi York had loose affiliations with a number of 5%-er groups in America, he came under heavy criticism from many of them especially the Nation of Gods of Earth previously mentioned. York would end up in jail after being charged in the largest one-man child molestation case in US history. His supporters claim his downfall was all a conspiracy perpetrated by his enemies and critics.

Now to tie this all together…Malachi York’s reputation is completely ruined and torn apart as well as his livlihood taken away. He will no doubt die in prison and will more than likely not receive a traditional eulogy. Some even believe it was the Nation of God’s of Earth, which P studied under, that had a hand in this. There you go…

The Ansaar community is an extremist faction of the afrocentrism movement. It was founded by David “Malachi” York in Brooklyn and included many views from the Nation of Islam, Moorish communities, and other “mystic” middle-eastern teachings.

The community received a great deal of lash-out from other African-American Islamic-based groups which gave it little chance to fully take off or expand.

Graphic designers produce album cover’s for the label but Interscope is famous in the Hip Hop industry for shelving, delaying, or flat out refusing to release a number of projects from some of the biggest names in Hip Hop. A CD can get made and everything but often times still is not released.

This is a metaphor for Macklemore pretending to be something he’s not in order to infiltrate the major record label.

This could also be a reference to the movie The Usual Suspects in which the thieves dress up in blue jumpsuits as painters to gain access into corporate offices they plan to rob. He references lines in the movie later on this album.
