Choo is speaking on his hustle here. He has recently aligned himself with Mac Miller’s Most Dope crew and compares his flow to an automatic weapon. You should align yourself with him or risk getting hit by the shrapnel of his lyrics.

This song is Machine Gun Kelly’s perspective on one of Common’s most important songs I Used to Love H.E.R in which he speaks on the Hip Hop culture and specifically its music. MGK focuses on the fans of his music in this song which is a bit different than Common’s focus. The Lace Up movement has helped a lot of trouble youths get through their problems, even helping a young man in a wheel chair accomplish his dream of walking.

Probably because it’s her sisters radio and her sister held it as a possession, she was never able to go near it.

Following the same theme in this song that Kells is a bit of an outcast in this genre, he wants his fans to know that he feels the same about them, the way they feel about him.

This also restarts the cycle of Love and Hip Hop.

He’s playing on the phrase “to push one’s buttons:”

  • Continuing the imagery of the stereo.

  • Not in the sense of annoying someone but as in turning on (literally and metaphorically).

However, at the moment she doesn’t want to listen to him and would like to find something new (music or artist). He’s turned off right now and has nothing to do nor anyone to listen to him.

Hip Hop is widespread. Colleges tend to be huge and it’s not hard to find people with similar interest in music. She’s discovers there are more stereos around there and she has more to listen to. It’s a metaphor for her venture into Hip Hop and discovering similar artists like Tech N9ne and Death Grips (and many more). MGK hopes that fans will appreciate these artists' music but will also come back to him when its said and done.

It is also a direct observation of his fans who tend to be in the high school age range and have to deal with those problems. Once college hits they will have to deal with different problems and situations.

A metaphor for how the Rap/Hip Hop genre tends to have a wide range of sub-genres (gangster rap, southern rap, conscious, trap, etc)

Another meaning created from this is even though people’s opinions will change about the music he makes.

She loves Hip Hop

He’s continues to play off the idea as if a boyfriend who sneaked in her house to chill with her (and possibly more). The “shut-up” is a allusion to the radio being turned on, off, up, and down because she doesn’t want others to know her interest in the genre; or persons like her parents would make her get rid of her love (the stereo/Hip Hop).

Double on “flip my switch:”

  • A drastic change in reference to the music being switched on and off, or changing the channels to a sound preferred by others.

  • Either to turn someone on or off really quick. When people are around he might flip up his style a little bit in order to be accepted more by the culture

  • Also gymnast tend to do a lot of flipping.

Possibly an allusion to Hip Hop’s close relationship with RnB. At times he might steer away from his in-your-face lyrics for softer more meaningful songs for his true fans instead.

We see a good example of this in the differences between his songs like Wildboy and End of The Road

Another metaphor; he’s having sex with Hip Hop. As a musician, he has the ability to get girls to take their clothes off.
