beyond our subconscious (or “mind shadows”) we are all one
I figure “Gloe” is concerned with Flylo’s 2008-2009 “L.A. Cycle” (Los Angeles, L.A.EP1X3, Shhh!, L.A.EP2X3, L.A.EP3X3). The “Shhh!” EP breaks up the ‘L.A.’ motif, so presumably it plays some unique role. Perhaps “Gloe” addresses the relation of the post-“Duality” album “Until the Quiet Comes” and 2008’s “Shhh!” Here and there, a voice can be heard “shhhh"ing (such as the second line: Captain Murphy talking of a ‘second guess’ while simultaneously a voice ‘quiets’ down a panting breath)
Between the 2011 “…Alt Takes” and 2012 “…Quiet Comes” sits Flying Lotus' pseudonymous rapper, Captain Murphy. “Between Friends” seems to be the most direct explanation of what “Duality” and Captain Murphy are; in it, Earl waxes on the Flylo corpus, to have the Captain enter with a conclusive “…so unorthodox,” i.e. ‘…and thus the reason for this…“ We are subsequently told of ”…the meaning and the feeling of Elysium,“ which I assume is the titular "Los Angeles” of the 2008-09 EP Cycle.
1) Beyond the mind [Los Angeles]
-“Beyond Good & Evil” = ‘the mind’
~“Be, be, be, be, I am the mind” (four “be’s”/four dialogic lines of first stanza)
2) Shadow [L.A.EP1X3]
-Introduction of ‘The Quiet’ into Flying Lotus' career. Perhaps an approximation of the public ‘unsaid’ concerning his Cycle. Hence “Until the Quiet Comes” as suggesting that he will hear the voice of his work until it is spoken of by someone outside his mind?
3) She and I [Shhhh!]
-‘The Quiet’ is personified in a woman? It would fit with the “Beyond Good & Evil” mentioned above, as that work considers ‘Truth as a Woman’
4) Will be You [L.A.EP2x3]
-Shkspr probably
5)[K?]Nighted [L.A.EP3X3]
-Kierkegaardian knights? ‘Knighted’ in OFWGKTA Arthurian kinghthood?
6) Yes [Cosmogramma]
-Symphonic musical arrangements like the Prog-rock band?
-“Yes, this is ‘cosmic opera’”?
