El has always felt isolated and unimportant in a world filled with global corporations and despotic governments. This could also refer to the fact that he has been an underground artist his whole career, sacrificing fame for artistic integrity. This correlates with the term “under the radar.”

This line plays off the classic trope of riding into the sunset when an adventure is finished. Bronson adds a twist though and switches a horse for a Harley-Davidson motorbike. This is more modern, since the clip takes place during or after the Vietnam war (noticeable because of his patch on his vest).

The title of this track comes from the classic road movie of the same name. In that film, Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper ride Harley choppers.

El-P, the other half of the Run The Jewels duo, produces their records as well as raps. He’s well renowned for his work in underground hip-hop, which goes back to the 90’s.

This line is fairly similar to one on their track “Banana Clipper”:

Producer gave me a beat, said it’s the beat of the year
I said “El-P didn’t do it so get the fuck outta here!”

“Top o' the morning to ya” is well known Irish slang for “good morning.”

Folgers is a brand of coffee, whose slogan is “the best part of wakin' up.” So basically, Mike’s punches wake you up like a morning coffee. The overall impression is that of a very angry, very caffeinated leprechaun.

Also note the alliteration of “f” in this line:

-fist, face, fucking, Folgers

A play on the phrase “it ain’t over til the fat lady sings.” Here the phrase “bird” is changed from the animal to slang for a woman.

The reference to playing comes from the earlier line about “kids playin'” in the morning sunshine.

In short, he’s saying when it comes down to it he’s not gonna play around.

The title track opens The 1975’s self-titled debut.

This track utilizes various euphemisms for oral sex. It is interpreted to be an intro to “Sex,” another track that expresses intimate details.

The song is featured as the opening track on the band’s sophomore album I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it and their third album A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships. It is revamped to match the style of the album but with the same lyrics.
