An odd medieval philosophy of planetary heavens, he’s so far gone that he feels his words echo into worlds beyond.

In addition, considering that echoes tend to happen in empty spaces, this could imply that he’s screaming into a void so large that the echo is interplanetary; alone in the universe.

A play on the phrase “your place or mine?” Whilst the original phrase (presuming it is said in a romantic sense) translates to “let’s fuck”, it is changed up here to highlight the loss of innocence and grace in the action.

Jimmy Page was the lead guitarist of the influential British rock band Led Zeppelin, known for such classics as “Stairway to Heaven” and “Whole Lotta Love” (your dad probably loves them).

It seems there are multiple explanations for this seemingly random outburst:

  • Outside of music Page has actually shown an interest in architecture.
  • From the early 70s to the 90s Page was the owner of the estate Boleskine House, previously owned by occultist Aleister Crowley. It was supposedly haunted by a severed head.
  • Could be a reference to Page’s famous recreational drug use, notably of heroin.
  • A reference to the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. Members of Led Zeppelin rode their motorcycles through the lobby one night. Death Grips stayed in the hotel during the recording of No Love Deep Web.

Also a reference to the Chateau Marmont Hotel, where the short film for the song was filmed.

Ride is a walking paradox.

Also, he implies a profundity that it is so cloaked in mystery; there is a dilation between self and environment, an epiphany so grand he cannot hold onto it without losing himself, thus the amnesia.

A stallion is a male horse, so “ride out” connotes ideas of nobility, loyalty, freedom and warfare.

Being “surrounded” also plays further part in his battle not just against the enemies outside but also within; he’s troubled by his psyche and is also “surrounded” by walls. It is a showdown between him and his fragile mind.

Whether or not this is actually true, eXquire is making a clever allusion to the trails of stardom. One reason why girls are all over rappers is their self-proclaimed large appendages, a regularly named length being 6+ inches, and eXquire can see that his girl wants him back now just to take a bite of his fame.

This is also a reference to The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, whose heart grew three sizes.
