The “Young blue bodies” are democrats, in “blue states”, who are stereotypically young adults. Meanwhile, the old red bodies are republican, are of older age, and the states that are mostly republican are called “Red states.”
The phrase “If you’re young and a republican you have no heart. If you’re old and a democrat you have no brain” should come to mind when reading these lines.
I think the point is that he’s afraid of everyone, no matter where they fall on the age spectrum (young old) or the political spectrum (blue red)

I wonder if this is a reference to Iraq and Afghanistan as a younger generation of “blue bodies”, dying in a war started by old republicans dying from old age.
